Mission Statement
To restore emotional wellbeing in people through meaningful connections with rescue animals and the natural world
Vision Statement
A world where humans and animals heal together, rediscovering the peace, purpose, and connection that emerge when we live in harmony with God's creation.

Core Values
Compassion in Action
Love is more than a feeling - it is something we practice. Through animal rescue, hospitality, and service, we strive to turn compassion into meaningful change for every life we touch.
Connection Over Consumption
True fulfillment is not found in having more, but in belonging more deeply. We foster connection with God, nature, animals, and one another as an antidote to the isolation of modern life.
Stewardship of Creation
We believe the land is a gift to be cared for, not merely consumed. Our decisions honor the wellbeing of the animals, the health of the environment, and the responsibility we have to future generations.
Reverence for Life
Every living creature has inherent worth and purpose. We seek to treat all life with dignity, respect, and gratitude, recognizing the Creator's hand in every part of creation.
Restoration & Renewal
Healing is possible. Whether human or animal, we believe every life deserves the opportunity to recover, grow, and thrive. Our mission is not simply rescue - it is restoration.
Faith & Presence
We believe some of life's deepest healing happens when we slow down enough to be fully present. In stillness, we reconnect with God, ourselves, and the beauty of the world around us.
Founder's Story

After serving six years in the military, including a deployment to Afghanistan, I experienced firsthand the toll that stress, trauma, and constant pressure can take on the mind, body, and spirit. In the years that followed, I found healing in two unexpected places: nature and animals. Away from the noise of everyday life, I discovered a sense of stillness where I could hear God's voice more clearly, regain perspective, and begin rebuilding my own strength.
The Taiga was born from that journey.
The name itself was inspired by a series of books called Anastasia, which tells the story of a woman living deeply connected to nature, animals, and the rhythms of creation. While reading those books, I was struck by the idea that much of modern society has drifted away from the natural world God designed us to live alongside. The books explored principles of stewardship, growing food, living intentionally, and developing a deeper awareness of our relationship with creation.
Those ideas resonated deeply with me. They challenged me to imagine what it would look like to create a place where people could step away from the constant demands of modern life and reconnect with something more authentic, peaceful, and life-giving.
The Taiga became my attempt to bring those principles to life.
Today, this sanctuary is home to rescued animals, gardens, forests, and spaces intentionally designed for rest and reflection. Every animal here has a story of rescue and healing. Every guest who visits arrives carrying their own experiences, struggles, hopes, and burdens. What makes this place special is watching those stories meet.
My mission is simple:
To create a peaceful, faith-rooted sanctuary where people can reconnect with God, nature, animals, and themselves. A place where healing happens through stillness, stewardship, and meaningful connection. The Taiga is a reminder that we were created to live in relationship with creation - not separate from it - and that some of life's deepest restoration can be found when we slow down enough to experience that truth.
Here, humans and animals heal together.
