Founder's Story

After serving 6 years in the military and being deployed to Afghanistan I learned firsthand the toll stress, trauma, and constant pressure can take on the mind and body. Nature became my refuge - a place where stillness, clarity, and God’s presence could finally break through the noise. Animals played an even bigger role, reminding me what unconditional peace and connection truly feel like.
The Taiga was born out of that journey.
I created this sanctuary to be a space where both people and animals can heal side-by-side. A place where guests can slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with creation in a meaningful way. Every rescue animal here has a story, and every guest who visits brings their own - and somehow, the two meet in a way that restores something inside us.
My mission is simple:
To offer a peaceful, faith-rooted environment where people can unplug from the world, reconnect with nature, and rediscover their mental and emotional strength. The Taiga blends comfort, rescue work, and spiritual grounding - a reminder that healing isn’t meant to happen alone.
